Artemis Papadatou

Principal

Artemis Papadatou is the founder and principal at Map Design Studio. Prior to founding Map, she previously worked for world renowned lighting design studio, L’Observatoire International, where she oversaw the design direction and project management for many of the world’s most prestigious institutions, brands, and developers including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Frick Collection, LVMH, Selfridges, Andre Balazs Properties and Steven Starr Restaurants.
Originally from Athens, Greece, Artemis received a Master’s in Architectural Engineering in 2006 from Democritus University of Thrace and a Master’s of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University of New York and is a practice-licensed architect in Greece.

Seulki Kim

Senior Designer

Seulki Kim is an emerging lighting designer with six years of experience in the lighting design industry in New York. She has worked with various lighting design studios and has been involved in commercial, residential, hospitality and institutional projects. Her skill set spans across sustainable design and proficiency in various design software. She thrives in a team environment and brings a fresh eye to each unique project.
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Seulki received a Bachelor’s in Interior Design and an MFA in Lighting Design.

Athena Kotsaba

Designer

Athena Kotsaba is an emerging lighting designer with nine years of experience in the lighting design industry throughout Europe. She has previously worked with Eleftheria Deko in Athens, and several architectural firms in London prior to transitioning to lighting design.
Born in Athens, Greece, Athena received a Graduate Diploma in Architecture from Leeds Metropolitan University, UK and Master’s Degree in Lighting Design from Greece Open University (ΕΑΠ).

Anne Roca

Designer

Anne Roca joined Map Design Studio in 2022. Prior to joining Map, Anne worked with Loop Lighting as a junior designer.
Born in France, Anne received a Bachelor of Art's in Growth and Structure of Cities from Haverford College, and a double MFA in Lighting Design and Interior Design from Parsons School of Constructed Environments.

Jung Eun Ra-Lee

Associate

Jung Eun Ra-Lee joined Map Design Studio in 2022 with over ten years of experience in the lighting design industry. Prior to joining Map, Jung worked with Kugler Ning Lighting as a senior associate. During her career, she has won several awards including a 2016 National IES Merit Award for the 1 Hotel South Beach and a 2015 IESNYC Lumen Award of Merit for the McKim, Mead & White Library.
Jung received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from Parsons School of Design.

Monica Llamas

Senior Designer

Monica Llamas is a New York-based lighting designer with over seven years of experience. Over the course of her career, she has contributed to the development of lighting designs for commercial, residential, hospitality, and institutional projects. As a member of IALD's NY Chapter board, Monica has a passionate interest in growing the lighting design community. Her passion has been recognized with multiple awards including the Lumen Award of Merit 2020, IES Illumination Special Citation Award 2020, 40 under 40 Lighting Magazine.
Born in Guatemala, Monica received a Bachelor’s in Architecture at Universidad Francisco Marroquin and an MFA in Lighting Design from Parsons School of Design.

Tabatha Gonzalez

Studio Manager

Tabatha Gonzalez joined Map Design Studio in 2023. Prior to joining Map, Tabatha worked as a freelance fine artists manager and media marketing producer.
Tabatha received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting from University of Florida.
